Through awareness campaigns, fundraising initiatives, and community events such as the Saree Walk in Pink, we aim to unite people in support of cancer patients while creating a lasting movement that inspires compassion, resilience, and positive change.
Making a Difference Together
As part of this commitment, IGC for Cancer proudly presents the Saree Walk in Pink, a community fundraising event that unites women dressed in pink sarees to spread awareness and raise funds for The Little Princess Trust.
The walk begins at Christchurch Park and continues to Ipswich Town Hall, symbolising strength, unity, and compassion. Organised by the Ishkama Global Change Chairs (IGC Chairs), the event aims to inspire communities to come together for a cause that affects countless families across the world.
The Saree Walk is more than a fundraising event—it is a celebration of courage, resilience, and hope. Every participant becomes a voice for those battling cancer and a source of encouragement for children and families facing one of life’s toughest challenges.
Our Aim
IGC for Cancer is not just a single event—it is a long-term commitment to creating positive change. Our vision is to build an ongoing movement that raises awareness, encourages early detection, supports cancer patients and their families, and funds organisations that are making a real difference.
By bringing together volunteers, supporters, healthcare professionals, businesses, and local communities, we aim to create opportunities for education, fundraising, and emotional support throughout the year. Why This Cause Matters
Cancer is unpredictable and can affect anyone, regardless of age or background. While early diagnosis improves treatment outcomes, many patients continue to face emotional, physical, and financial hardships throughout their journey.
For children, the impact is especially heartbreaking. Young girls undergoing cancer treatment often lose their hair, affecting not only their appearance but also their confidence and emotional well-being. To support these children, IGC is raising funds for The Little Princess Trust, a charity that provides real-hair wigs to children and young people who have lost their hair due to cancer treatment and other medical conditions. The charity also funds vital childhood cancer research, helping improve treatments and giving hope to future generations.
This mission is deeply personal for the leadership of Ishkama Global Change. Prof. Abhnash Bains, CEO of IGC, lost his father to cancer, while Vice CEO Dr. Minakshi Koch lost her cousin to breast cancer. Their personal experiences continue to inspire IGC’s commitment to raising awareness, supporting families, and creating a stronger community of care.
